Affordable Health Insurance in Illinois; HSA High Deductable Strategies Considered I’m 21 and I’m not a full time student so I lost my health insurance coverage. Because I work I have to get Healthy NY insurance and I have to choose an HMO. I want to know which one of these below won’t give me a hard time getting a proved for the procedure. I have already done my six month with my PCP and I’m hoping to get the Lap Band. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks!
1.Aetna Health, Inc. Hello. I was covered by Healthnet for 2 years with my employer. I went on medical disability August 2009 and my company agreed to carry me on the policy till March 2010. HR accidentely canceled my policy because, but reinstated me as soon as they caught the error. Healthnet said restatements can only be done on the 1st of the following month. So I didnt get my Health Insurance back until Oct. 1 2009. Since then, I have been getting nailed with denial letters citing they were not covering pre-exisiting conditions and blah blah. I called them up and they said that since I had a 30 day lapse in coverage (which was a technical error that my company fixed) then it would be like starting all over again with a new policy. Now nothing is covered Oct 2009 – Present because they cite pre exisiting conditions. This is garbage. I appealed to Health Net and notified the State Insurance Commission of California. Nothing has been done. Is this even legal? I doubt it.
