Insulin pumps are extremely expensive and so are the ongoing costs. You also really need two pumps in case one breaks. Because the insulins on the market now are so effective at controlling blood glucose, there is no reduction in cost for them if the pump offers no benefit over multiple injections in the reduction in complications. I’m not defending the usurious swine – just offering an explanation.
