LIC Health Protection Plus Review

LIC has launched “LIC Health Protection Plus”, a special long term health insurance plan for the entire family including husband, wife and the children. The plan offers health insurance benefits including Hospital Cash Benefit (HCB), Major Surgical Benefit (MSB) and Domiciliary Treatment Benefit (DTB).  This is one of few policy that LIC has come up with regard to health insurance.  Here is the mini LIC Health Protection Plus Review.

In this plan, the principal insured person must decide the family members to be included, based on which he/she can decide the premium amount. You can add member into the plan based on defined conditions such as marriage or child birth. The plan offers Yearly, Half-Yearly & Monthly ECS Payment Modes.  Only disadvantage when it comes to paying LIC Policy premiums is the fact that we cannot pay it from our credit card.  Hope LIC rectifies and let us pay via credit card.

Advantages of LIC Health Protection Plus are as follows:

Offers the benefit to meet domiciliary treatment and OPD (Out Patient Department) charges apart from Hospital Cash Benefit (HCB) and Major Surgical Benefit (MSB). Hence you can claim expenses even if you are not hospitalized. Offers Multiple MSB benefits. Offers Section 80(D) Tax Benefit. Offers Policy continuation even after if you stop premium

Disadvantages of LIC Health Protection Plus are as follows:

Includes many conditions. So it becomes essential to read and understand the conditions before going for the plan. Domiciliary Treatment Benefit is based on cessation of MSB and HCB, and can be claimed only after 3 years. Provides no Death insurance benefit.
